2008 Florida Senior Games State Championships

The 2007 Florida Senior Games State
Championships Female Athlete of the Year, Claudette Braswell, of Lake Wales (pictured at right) accepts her award at the 2008 Ambassadors for Aging Day event at the Florida Capitol, on February 20.  Braswell won gold medals in Basketball Shooting and Racquetball and picked up a silver medal in Horseshoes, all in the 70-74 age group.

The 2007 Male Athlete of the Year, Larry Wallen, a powerlifter from Jacksonville was unable to attend the event and receive his award.

The 17th Annual Florida Senior Games State Championships return to Lee County and the City of Cape Coral December 6-14, 2008 with over 2,000 of Florida's finest senior athletes expected to compete.
